Derek Ladd
Derek collaborates with other Systems Engineers and IT personnel to define technology problems and solutions. Provides leadership and oversight of both highly advanced and complex technical projects or business issues requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge.
Derek manages and builds out the LTE 4G architecture in our test Lab along with planning for future 5G CBRS environment at CACN and RELLIS Some of his roles include managing and maintaining local and remote virtual hosts, AWS cloud environments, network architecture, Windows & Linux servers, NAS, vetting and deploying 3rd party partner vendor images for evaluation, and train and managing our CACN student workers to do the same. Derek’s team tests user end to the admin side of developing applications for public safety use including PTT, Chat, SIP, geospatial location tracking applications etc. He is CJIS certified and always working to be conscious of security best practices and applying them to our test environment to comply with most government standards. He is directly involved with the strategic planning and execution of public safety exercises such as the Winter Institute to demonstrate the labs’ capability and showcase new technology applications and hardware that support first responders and their training.
